Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus (yellow daylily) is a member of the Asphodelaceae family. This perennial exhibits a clump forming growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc) – hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection.

When fully mature, Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus can reach an ultimate height of 0.5–1 metres and a spread of 0.5–1 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers west–facing, south–facing aspect and exposed, sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
