Product description & Growing guide

Ageratina altissima 'Chocolate' (snakeroot 'Chocolate') is a member of the Asteraceae family. This perennial exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – cold winter (-15 to -10ºc) – hardy through most of the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open or exposed sites or central / northerly locations. Many evergreens suffer foliage damage and plants in pots will be at increased risk.

When fully mature, Ageratina altissima 'Chocolate' can reach an ultimate height of 0.5–1 metres and a spread of 0.5–1 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers west–facing, east–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam soil types and should be placed in a partial shade position.
