Agapanthus praecox 'Albiflorus' (African lily 'Albiflorus') is a member of the Amaryllidaceae family. This perennial exhibits a clump forming growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of tender – cool or frost-free glasshouse (1 to 5ºc) – tolerant of low temperatures but will not survive being frozen. Except in frost-free inner-city areas or coastal extremities requires glasshouse conditions in winter, but can be grown outdoors once risk of frost is over
When fully mature, Agapanthus praecox 'Albiflorus' can reach an ultimate height of 1–1.5 metres and a spread of 0.5–1 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing, west–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
