Tellima grandiflora (fringe cups) is a member of the Saxifragaceae family. This perennial exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc) – hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection.
When fully mature, Tellima grandiflora can reach an ultimate height of 0.5–1 metres and a spread of 0.1–0.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing, north–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full shade, full sun, partial shade position.
