Phlox subulata 'Maischnee' (May Snow) (moss phlox 'Maischnee') is a member of the Polemoniaceae family. This perennial exhibits a matforming growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc) – hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection.

When fully mature, Phlox subulata 'Maischnee' (May Snow) can reach an ultimate height of 0.0–0.1 metres and a spread of 0.1–0.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing, west–facing aspect and exposed, sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
