Liriope muscari 'Big Blue' (lilyturf 'Big Blue') is a member of the Asparagaceae family. This grasse exhibits a clump forming, tufted growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – cold winter (-15 to -10ºc) – hardy through most of the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open or exposed sites or central / northerly locations. Many evergreens suffer foliage damage and plants in pots will be at increased risk.
When fully mature, Liriope muscari 'Big Blue' can reach an ultimate height of 0.1–0.5 metres and a spread of 0.1–0.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east–facing, west–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in clay, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a partial shade position.
